Screen Prints and Monotypes
Printmaking requires pressure. In my work, it is the pressure of the roller on an etching press as it transfers ink from copper or plexiglass onto paper, and it is the pressure of the squeegee pushing ink through a screen onto paper, wood, or canvas.
Copper, plexiglass, polyester screen - each is a matrix that holds the ink that creates the image that becomes the print.
Ink & Matrix & Pressure result in the indelible character of a print, a unique impression that is not a copy, but a singular work of art.
